Learning from the Master (What I learned from Playing it My Way, By Sachin Tendulkar)

Walking through the life of a person whom you adore is always inspiring. It took me no time to read “Playing it My Way” – an autobiography of Sachin Tendulkar. Everyone who loves sport and cricket has huge respect for Sachin. For me, he is not only a great sportsperson world has ever seen but also a true humble gentleman who had his feet on ground while touching the sky of glory. His life is a lesson for all of us and I am jotting down few points below which I learned from his autobiography:

  1. Do the work which you enjoy. There should be passion in the work else it is a burden.
  2. Whatever success you have achieved in life, always be humble and grounded.
  3. Practice your trade everyday whatever your experience is.
  4. Analysis of what you are doing everyday matters. Challenge yourself.
  5. Have vision for yourself but focus on the day’s job. If it is well done, you are a step closer to your vision.
  6. Remember and thank everyone who has made you what you are.
  7. Family matters as they are the one with you during hardest of your times.
  8. You should have well devised strategy against all your competitors and you should be flexible enough to tweak it at any point of time. Don’t’ get bogged down.
  9. Whatever you do Ethics and Integrity should be at its core.
  10. Success requires many sacrifices.

These are my learnings from the autobiography. Please read it if you are planning to read it and share your learnings as well.
